Jerez - Williams racer Felipe Massa recorded the best time in the last day preseason test session at Jerez . Two positions occupied by Fernando Alonso of Ferrari , Massa former team .
In the session on Friday ( 01/31/2014 ) that runs moist , Massa posted a best time of 1 minute 28.229 seconds after the car drove as much as 86 rounds . Alonso, who made 115 rounds , the highest number among the other riders in this test , nearly a second adrift of Massa .
Meanwhile Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull only completed seven laps before being summoned his team to end the test early . Red Bull reportedly suffered mechanical problems .
Mercedes racer Kevin Magnussen who made the best time on the day before the test session , again managed to make a lot of rounds with his car and in fourth position . However , he had to finish the test with 10 minutes remaining after the MP4 - 29 he was driving hit the tires into the guardrail .
Mercedes engined cars , especially Mercedes team , promising comeback in the fourth day of the test which is also the last day in Jerez this .
