Petrov, Trulli at the Caterham Replace

Hingham - Vitaly Petrov Caterham F1 officially recruited to replace Jarno Trulli throughout the 2012 season. Russian rider will duet with Heikki Kovalainen.

Reported by Autosport, Petrov has been linked with a number of sacked Lotus team after that choose to hook Kimi Raikkonen by Romain Grosjean for this year's competition.

Trulli is now a rider without a team and be a first for the Italian since his debut with Minardi in 1997. Caterham owner, Tony Fernandes said it was not easy making the decision to replace Trulli.

"It's not an easy decision to bring Vitaly replace Jarno, but it's a decision we made to ensure that we provide a fresh impetus in all and with a realistic eye on the global economic market," said Fernandes.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tony, Kamarudin, SM Nasarudin, Riad, Mike and the rest of the team for two seasons our togetherness," said Trulli. "I understand this decision and I hope all diving team a great season."

Petrov said he was happy to join the Caterham. He was admitted not wait to test with CT01 car in Barcelona.

"It's a very exciting day," Petrov delight. "I have been training hard over the winter and ready to go back to the cockpit and work. From what I've seen, our car had a positive progress since 2011 and I can not wait to feel it when we went to Barcelona."
