Mavericks Get Carter

Dallas - Dallas Mavericks continue to strengthen itself ahead of the passing of the new NBA season. After yesterday recruit Lamar Odom, the defending champion also bring in a veteran point guard, Vince Carter.

ESPN reported, Carter last week parted ways with which he defended the Phoenix Suns last season. The 34-year-old basketball player and then establish a three-season contract with the Mavs.

Not on the value of the contract Carter at Mavs, but reportedly reached U.S. $ 3 million (USD 27.1 billion) for the first season.

In the Mavs, Carter will reunited with Jason Kidd. Carter and Kidd never played together in the New Jersey Nets for three seasons.

"You're talking about a veteran who knows how to play and win," Kidd said Saturday.

"He could help the defense, he can feed, and he was great. For that, he certainly would fit with our style and he can help us win," he said.

Carter began his career in the 1998/1999 season in the Toronto Raptors. Among the NBA players who are still active, he occupied the eighth position in the list of leading scorer with a total of 20,250 points.
