Cheruiyot Grab Gold in 10,000 Meters

Kenyan runner's daughter, Vivian Cheruiyot, won gold in the 10,000 meter run numbers on the World Athletics Championships continued on Saturday (08/27/2011) in Daegu, South Korea. The Kenyan runners dominated the top four in the final number.

Other Kenyan runners, Sally Kipyego, lost in the final sprint and won only a silver. Two other athletes kenya, Linet Masai won the bronze, and Priscah Cherono ranks fourth.


On the same day, three Kenyan runners also swept gold, silver, and bronze in women marathon number.

  
Cheruiyot had memimipin course of the race on the last two rounds. Cheruiyot finally took the gold with a clocked 30 minutes 48.98 seconds.

"It's nice to win gold at the numbers first 10,000 meters at the world championships. We were inspired by the marathon runners who reached the same result," said gold medalist in the 5,000-meter track and field world championships in Berlin two years ago
