City one step closer to qualify for the final of the League Cup . The Citizens have already pocketed 6-0 aggregate advantage over West Ham in the first leg .Meanwhile , Manchester United still have to conquer Sunderland to qualify for the final . 'Red Devils' 1-2 defeat when playing the first leg semifinal match at the Stadium of Lights two weeks ago .
With the two teams from Manchester City in the semi-finals , not a few who championed both teams were to meet in the final round . But Sunderland who already had aggregate advantage over Manchester United determined to qualify for the finals as well thwart the scenario .
" Of course we have to play very well . We have to be in the right position , we must be strong mentally , " said the Sunderland manager , Gus Poyet as quoted by Soccerway .
" Especially because of the way we have played and where we have to play . I have a feeling a lot of people think that the final is between Manchester United and Manchester City . We want to try and not let it happen , we must make sure we are there ( finals ) . "
